Last year we began building 3 homes in Centuria and one home in Webster. The homes for the Bantz family and the Proulx family in Centuria and the home for the Andersen family in Webster have been completed.

Currently we are working to complete the last of the three homes in Centuria, for the Martin family. Their son, Levi, has suffered from health problems as a result of living in their mold-infested apartment. Over the past year, the Martin family has moved from that apartment, to a shelter, to a friend’s home, and in with family members until their home is completed. We are anxious to finish their home and get them in to stable housing.

Build days in Centuria are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm. At this point most work consists of smaller jobs.

Our greatest volunteer need is finding people who can prepare lunches for our build volunteers on Saturdays. The build group consists of around 10 volunteers. This could be done by an individual, a couple, or even a small group.

We are also looking for a lunch coordinator. That person or couple of people would find a person or group to prepare the lunches each Saturday. We would provide the coordinator with a list of groups and individuals who have donated in the past, to get them stated.

Our next project will be the building of a home for the Sandager Hays family in Luck. Their home was knocked off its foundation when a man driving a van crashed through the wall of their son’s bedroom, in the fall of 2013.

In addition, we are in need of funds for building and repairing homes this year. This lent season, please consider donating to Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity, and help families realize the dream of home-ownership and a better future.

If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact Teresa, 715-483-2700 ext. 16 or teresa@wildrivershabitat.org. If you would like more information about the ways in which you can donate, please contact Cassie, 715-483-2700 ext. 17 or cassie@wildrivershabitat.org.

Thank you,

Cassie Shaker
