SCF November’s Mission Moment

mm“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” (Matt. 9:37 NIV)

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” (Gal. 6:9-10   NIV)

In October, we collected gifts for Operation Christmas Child and on November 8th, after church (11 am) we will come together to share a meal and to pack these gifts to be sent , with our prayers, to children across the world. This month, we prepare for the Annual Thanksgiving Supper which will take place on November 26th from 4pm -6pm.   Last year we were able to feed seventy (70) people and we heard many times over how much it blessed those who were served.

As we enter into the “Season of Giving” let us not forget that there are many ways in which to show God’s heart. Feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, being the hands and feet of Christ provides HOPE to those around us and across the world-THAT IS WHAT MISSIONS IS ALL ABOUT!

Until next time, think about the many ways and opportunities we have to give in Jesus name.
